We collect less on purpose.
Cancer Clinic Finder is a research directory and navigation resource. The clinic-matching form asks for contact information and broad preferences such as the condition being researched, care setting, possible travel regions, support needs, budget range, and optional treatment interest. It is not a patient portal and does not ask for medical records, test results, a detailed treatment history, or a free-form medical narrative.
- No sale of personal information. The current the Cancer Clinic Finder service does not sell personal information or use it for cross-site behavioral advertising.
- No automatic clinic handoff. A navigation inquiry goes to authorized Cancer Clinic Finder staff. It is not sent to a listed clinic unless a separate introduction is clearly explained and you ask us to make it.
- Short retention for inquiries. Navigation inquiry records are scheduled for permanent deletion after 90 days.
- Your shortlist stays in your browser. Up to three clinic names, IDs, and Cancer Clinic Finder links are stored locally on your device until you clear them.
Last updated October 4, 2026. This policy applies to Cancer Clinic Finder’s website, directory, navigation inquiry forms, and clinic-account tools. It does not govern a clinic’s website or another service you choose to open from a Cancer Clinic Finder link.
1. Scope and an important health-information boundary
Cancer Clinic Finder helps people research clinics, treatments, and questions to discuss with qualified care professionals. The website is not an electronic health record, telehealth platform, or emergency service. Please do not send detailed medical histories, test results, insurance records, photographs of medical documents, or information about another patient through a Cancer Clinic Finder form or ordinary email. The clinic-matching form accepts only the limited categories displayed on the form.
Privacy rules can depend on who holds information and why. Do not assume an ordinary directory or consumer website form has the same protections as a hospital’s patient portal. If Cancer Clinic Finder later offers a clinical service or accepts health records, that service will require a separate protected intake process and service-specific privacy notice before it opens.
2. Information we collect
| Activity | Information | Where it goes and how long it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Browse and search | Requested page, search words, selected filters, date and time, and routine device or network data that a web server may receive, such as an IP address, browser type, and referrer. | Searches and filters appear in the page URL and may remain in browser history or routine server logs. Do not enter health information in a search box. |
| Clinic shortlist and comparison | Up to three Cancer Clinic Finder clinic IDs, clinic names, and same-site profile links. | Stored in your browser’s local storage. Cancer Clinic Finder reads it on your device; it is not added to a Cancer Clinic Finder account. Clinic IDs appear in the comparison-page URL when you open a comparison. |
| Navigation inquiry | First name; email and/or phone; preferred contact method; inquiry category; and, for the clinic-matching intake, the broad condition being researched, care-setting preference, possible travel regions, day-to-day support needs, budget range, optional treatment interest, and any connected clinic profile; the first page visited, referrer, campaign tags, page paths viewed in the current browser session, and the clinic profile connected with the inquiry. | Stored as a private WordPress record available to authorized Cancer Clinic Finder editors and administrators. It is scheduled for permanent deletion after 90 days. The inquiry record does not store your raw IP address. |
| Form protection | A keyed, one-way value derived from the requesting IP address and a request count. | Used only to limit automated or repeated submissions and expires after one hour. It is not used to build a visitor profile. |
| Clinic account | Representative name, work email, password hash, login and security records, and authentication cookies. | Stored in WordPress while the account is active or as needed to protect profile integrity, respond to requests, and keep necessary administrative records. |
| Clinic ownership claim | Clinic role, authorization statement, terms and privacy acceptance record, verification explanation, claim status, and private staff review notes. | Restricted to the claimant and authorized Cancer Clinic Finder staff as appropriate. Claim evidence and staff notes are not placed on the public profile. |
| Clinic profile updates | Public business details; proposed clinic identity, team, services, and treatment information; and optional logo or clinic/team photograph. | Practical details may be published immediately after an approved representative saves them. Proposed identity, service, and media changes are reviewed before use on the profile. Uploaded media is intended for public profile use and must not contain patient information or other sensitive content. |
| Cancer Clinic Finder clinic research | Public professional and business contact details, source links, staff-only research notes, and contact-check dates. | Used to maintain the directory. Staff-only contact records are limited to authorized editors and administrators and are kept separate from the public research record. |
3. How we use information
We use personal information to operate and secure the directory; answer the request you chose to send; maintain a clinic shortlist on your device; create and authenticate clinic accounts; review clinic-representative authority; publish approved clinic-provided business information; investigate misuse; correct directory facts; and meet applicable legal obligations.
Cancer Clinic Finder does not use inquiry details, clinic-account evidence, diagnoses, treatment interests, or medical records for targeted advertising. The site does not use session replay or advertising pixels. When Google Analytics is enabled, it receives page-view and non-personal interaction events such as viewing a clinic profile, selecting a clinic contact link, or submitting a form. Names, email addresses, phone numbers, form answers, and medical details are not included in those analytics events.
6. Retention and security
Navigation inquiries are scheduled for permanent deletion after 90 days, and the inquiry rate-limit value expires after one hour. Cleanup runs through WordPress’s scheduled-task system, so deletion may occur after the target date if the site is inactive or a processing backlog develops. A shortlist remains in your browser until you remove clinics or clear site storage. Session attribution normally ends with the browser tab or session; any copy submitted with an inquiry follows the inquiry’s 90-day deletion schedule. Account, claim, profile-update, and audit records are kept while needed to provide account access, document authority to edit a clinic, protect editorial integrity, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. A deletion request may be granted while a limited record is retained where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or the integrity of a published profile.
Cancer Clinic Finder limits private records to authorized roles, keeps claim and inquiry records out of public pages and the public WordPress API, validates form submissions, applies anti-abuse controls, and avoids putting inquiry contact details into staff notification emails. Passwords are stored by WordPress as hashes rather than readable text. No online system can promise absolute security. If a privacy or security concern affects you, use the privacy-request route below.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You may ask Cancer Clinic Finder to provide, correct, or delete personal information connected with an inquiry or clinic account; close a clinic account; correct public clinic information; or explain a prior disclosure. You may also withdraw permission for a follow-up that has not already occurred. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting, especially for a clinic account or a request made for someone else.
To make a request, use the form at the bottom of this page and choose Privacy or account request. Describe the type of record, not a medical history. You may also call the number displayed in the site header. Cancer Clinic Finder will honor rights required by applicable law and will not discriminate against someone for making a privacy request.
To remove a shortlist, choose “Clear all” in the comparison bar or clear this site’s local storage in your browser. You can also use browser settings to restrict cookies, though clinic-account login may then stop working.
8. Children and visitors outside the United States
Cancer Clinic Finder is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A parent or guardian should submit a navigation inquiry for a minor. Clinic-representative accounts are for adults authorized to act for a clinic.
If you visit from outside the United States, information may be processed in the United States and in countries where service providers operate. Privacy rights and protections can differ by location. Cancer Clinic Finder will use appropriate safeguards where applicable to a production service.
9. Changes, contact, and launch details
We will revise this policy when the service or its data practices change and will update the date at the top. If a material change affects information already collected, Cancer Clinic Finder will provide additional notice where reasonably practical and legally required.
This site is still in local pre-launch review. Before public launch, the policy must identify the responsible operating entity, its postal address, a dedicated privacy email, the production hosting arrangement, and any additional vendors or analytics actually enabled. Those details will be added only after they are final.
For a privacy or account request, use the form below and select Privacy or account request. For a factual clinic correction, choose Correcting a clinic profile. Please do not include medical records or sensitive health information.
