Define what “integrative” means at each center
Integrative cancer care can describe different combinations of oncology, symptom management, nutrition, rehabilitation, mind-body services, naturopathic care, acupuncture, exercise, pain care, psychological support, and other services. Ask the center to identify exactly which services it provides, who provides them, where they take place, and how they connect with the oncology plan.
Map the clinical team
Ask who leads the case and which professionals will review it. Record each clinician’s role, credentials, and involvement. Learn whether the team includes medical, surgical, or radiation oncology and how outside oncologists participate when those services are not available onsite.
Compare treatments and supportive services separately
For each reported treatment, confirm the reason it is being discussed, eligibility process, schedule, location, and clinician responsible. Then list supportive services such as nutrition, physical therapy, pain management, counseling, acupuncture, massage, or caregiver support. Separating the two lists makes the proposed plan easier to understand.
Ask how the teams communicate
- Who reviews medications and supplements together?
- How are recommendations shared with the oncology team?
- Who monitors laboratory results and symptoms?
- Who changes the plan if treatment changes?
- What information is sent to the patient’s local doctors?
Understand the complete schedule
Ask for a sample week and the total expected duration. Identify which visits require fasting, a driver, recovery time, or time near the clinic. Confirm whether the program is outpatient or residential and whether a caregiver is expected to stay.
Request an itemized estimate
Separate consultations, tests, procedures, infusions, supplements, supportive services, facility fees, and follow-up. Ask which services are optional, which are billed to insurance, which are self-pay, and what happens if the plan changes. Include travel and lodging in the comparison.
Use consistent questions across centers
A uniform comparison makes differences visible. Cancer Clinic Finder profiles organize location, care model, reported treatments, practical details, contact information, and sources. Save up to three centers and open the comparison tool. Then use the clinic question guide during calls.
Keep a written record of the decision
Save each center’s written proposal, estimate, schedule, clinician list, records request, and follow-up plan. Note what remains unanswered and who promised to respond. If you want help finding centers by location and reported services, request a callback.
